ROHS Compliance
It is important that we at Nitronics keep our customers informed on our stance with regards to ROHS.
Nitronics supplies manufacturer specified components from our customers part numbers and BOM. This has always been our policy and there will be no change to this.
As a supplier and not the end manufacturer, it would be impossible for us to identify either by customer or equipment whether any exceptions would apply to lead free products.
It is ultimately the responsiblity of our custmers to design out any parts that do not conform and provide us with replacement information as soon as possible. We will be only to happy to assist with this in any way possible.
Over the coming months there will be many changes to ensure by July 2006 the majority of our suppliers will be supplying ROHS compliant materials only.
We are currently in the process of setting up within our warehouse new stock locations for all lead free components, allowing us to segregate and easily identify the product.
Our aim over the next few months is to review all our component stock holding, making clear identification of its status.
We are already beginning to work in close conjunction with many of our customers to identify and provide information of lead free products when known. This exercise is planned to coincide with our sales team working on new or repeat business opportunities, to ensure a smooth changeover.
It will become increasingly important to keep us informed when you intend to solder and manufacture your boards using lead free product, so that we can work towards that date and advise of any components that may not comply.
